CDC Trip

We learned all about disease control and prevention!
At the CDC, we were given a presentation by Ms. Carol Selman and Dr. Don Sharp about how food can get contaminated. We also were given a tour by Ms. Latoya Simmons, shown above. We learned that say if you went to lunch with your friends and you all ordered the same meal, if you were all to get sick with the same illness, it would be classified as a food borne illness. We also learned that when dealing with raw food, you must cook it until the inside is brown in ground beef's case. We learned that contaminating one thing leads to contaminating another thing. We learned many useful pieces of information at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
